LA-based luxury label GALLERY DEPT. is set to team up with ASICS for the first time ever this season. No stranger to a sneaker collaboration, Josué Thomas’ and his crew have previously joined forces with Vans to release takes on the Old Skool and the Rowley XLT LX. For its first foray with the Japanese footwear label, GALLERY DEPT. has set to work on the GT-2160, a running sneaker that debuted back in 2011. Offering up a vibrant paint-splattered look, the kicks are said to be inspired by how Thomas’ own sneakers change throughout the course of a project, becoming dirtied and paint-splattered throughout his creative process.
Crafted from a range of different fabrics, the sneakers showcase a white, silver and blue colourway, with the signature ASICS logo taking pride of place on the lateral and medial sides. A yellow GALLERY DEPT. tag is located on the rear of each sneaker, while the insoles are also dual-branded, pointing to the limited edition nature of this release. Coming complete in a special box, the sneakers will launch on the 15th December in limited quantities, so move fast if you’re looking to grab a pair! In the meantime, stay tuned right here at Crepslocker for all the latest in luxury fashion, streetwear and sneakers!
