It’s no secret that Michael Jordan loves golf. While the Chicago Bulls star may well be more renowned for his time on the basketball court, the Jumpman himself regularly enjoys time on the golf course and has become a talented player over the years. While he initially started playing as a way to unwind between basketball games, Jordan has become so invested in the game that he now owns a private 18-hole course in order to play whenever he wants. As well as this, Jordan Brand now launches regular golf-centric sneakers, showing off classic Jordan silhouettes optimised for the golf course.
With many sneakerheads indulging in the sport, it’s no surprise that these Jordan golf sneakers have become increasingly-desirable. We’ve seen iconic colourways from over the years treated to their very own golf renditions, as well as limited-edition collaborations with huge industry names. So are golf sneakers hyped now? We’re going with a resounding yes. Here at Crepslocker we’ve rounded up the greatest Jordan golf shoes so far, so check out our list below and be sure to let us know which pair is your favourite!
Air Jordan 1 Retro High Golf "University Blue"
Showcasing the famous “UNC” colourway that’s dedicated to the University of North Carolina, where Michael Jordan attended, these kicks channel vintage flair for that iconic ‘85 look. Featuring classic colour blocking that consists of hits of blue, white and black, the kicks are presented with Swoosh logos on either side, wings branding and a perforated toe box. Finished with inconspicuous golf tooling underfoot, there’s no doubting that calibre of this release!
Air Jordan 3 Retro Golf "White Cement"
Tinker Hatfield’s Air Jordan 3 debuted in 1988 and was a turning point for Jordan Brand in terms of design. As the first sneaker to feature the now-legendary “Elephant Print”, the kicks hold a special place in the heart of many sneakerheads. 2017 saw the sneakers decked out with a golf sole unit, offering responsive cushioning and impact reduction. While other golf sneakers can be a little less in-your-face, this pair provides an all-out look that’s ready to swing for a hole in one.
Travis Scott x Air Jordan 1 Retro Low Golf "Neutral Olive"
Travis Scott has long since been a Jordan Brand collaborator and reputable name in the sneaker industry, although 2023 saw the Houston-born rapper take things a step further and launch his very-first golf sneaker. Using the AJ1 Low as the base for the release, the kicks were decked out in a classic Travis “Neutral Olive” colour scheme, with reverse Swoosh logos and Cactus Jack branding aplenty. Of course, this release birthed many newfound golf fans who couldn’t wait to get their hands on the pair!
Air Jordan 4 Retro Golf "Bred"
The Air Jordan 4 is one of the most popular sneakers in the world right now, and it’s not exactly hard to see why. Showcasing chunky design language and angular features, the kicks are another classic Tinker Hatfield design, and colourways don’t really get much better than the legendary “Bred” option. Debuted by PGA pro golfer Pat Perez in 2021, the golf variation of this pair is the perfect option for serious sneakerhead golfers. If you’re lucky, you might stumble across a pair of these on the resale market! We’re definitely hoping for a re-release sometime soon.
Air Jordan 1 Low Retro Golf "Shadow"
First launched in 1985 as an OG AJ1 colourway, the “Shadow” rendition is an absolute fan favourite due to its stripped-back looks and monochromatic colour scheme. Showing off premium leather uppers, the kicks feature Swoosh logos on either side, wings motifs on the heel counters and an inconspicuous golf sole unit. They really don’t get much better than this! Hit the course in style and comfort just like MJ would.
