The Best Air Jordan 3s of All Time

Published: by Jack Aldrich

Designed by Tinker Hatfield and first making its way onto the market back in 1988, the Air Jordan 3 is a legendary silhouette that’s loved by many. After the widespread success of the Air Jordan 1, the AJ2 had failed to meet the mark in terms of sales, so the pressure was on for Hatfield to create something that would turn heads. However, he more than pulled through, crafting a sleek-looking model that stands the test of time over 35 years later.

Here at Crepslocker we’re huge fans of the AJ3, and we’ve seen some incredible releases launch over the years. From epic GR colourways to ultra-limited collaborations, there’s certainly been some bangers. We’re here to list our favourites once and for all, so if you’re interested in our choices then read on to find out more!

AJ3 Black Cement

Air Jordan 3 "Black Cement"

One of multiple OG colourways to drop back in ‘88, the “Black Cement” AJ3s are some of the best to ever do it. Crafted from premium tumbled leather across the uppers, the kicks are completed with red detailing, grey panels and of course the elephant print pattern that has become synonymous with the AJ3. Last seen back in 2018, this pair is well overdue a retro release in our books!

AJ3 Mocha

Air Jordan 3 "Mocha"

First launched in 2001, the AJ3 “Mocha” showcases a brown colour scheme that’s versatile, stylish and timeless. While the kicks are mostly decked out white, the brown details really help the design to pop, with classic Jordan Brand logos featured in the usual places. This pair received its one and only retro release back in 2018.

Hiroshi Fujiwara’s fragment design label has long since been a recognised name within the sneaker world. Although the brand may well be more known by footwear fans for its Air Jordan 1 efforts, the label did in fact work on an AJ3 back in 2020. Showing off an impeccably-clean black and white colourways, the kicks featured fragment logos at the heel tabs and embossed branding across the lateral side. A must-have pair for any serious Air Jordan 3 fan!

Air Jordan 3 Chlorophyll

Air Jordan 3 "Chlorophyll"

While Chlorophyll Green is a classic Nike colourway, it wasn’t seen on the Air Jordan 3 until 2018. Sitting across the 1988 silhouette perfectly, the kicks were also accentuated with hits of grey to help form the clean design. Jumpman branding resides on the rears and tongues. Once again, this is another pair we’d love to see return to the market in retro format!

AJ3 White Cement

Air Jordan 3 "White Cement"

Last but by no means least on our list is none other than the Air Jordan 3 “White Cement”. Another OG 1988 colourway, this pair offers up a mostly-white upper, with hits of grey and red completing the look to form a versatile pair of kicks. Elephant print is also present, with true to OG versions featuring Nike Air branding on the heels. The pair was launched in early 2023 in “Reimagined” format.
