The Five Best Air Jordan 1 Low Colourways

Published: by Jack Aldrich

Introduced in 1985 alongside the hugely-popular high top variant of the Air Jordan 1, the Jordan 1 Low is arguably just as popular as its taller counterpart, especially in recent years. Showing off a more streamlined design that’s ideal for those that don’t favour high-tops, the AJ1 Low has launched in some legendary colourways over the years and has even been the subject of some incredibly-hyped collaborations, fuelling the fire behind the silhouette even more so. Here at Crepslocker we’ve seen a solid increase in hype for the AJ1 Low, with sneakerheads around the world coming to love the model more than ever before.

We’ve decided to set the record straight and delve straight into our sneaker archives to showcase the best Air Jordan 1 Low colourways of all time. Narrowing our selection down to just five sneakers, this list wasn’t easy to compile, with so many different pairs to choose from. So without hesitation, let’s jump right in and take a look at some of the best AJ1 Lows of all time!

AJ1 Low OG Black ToeAir Jordan 1 Low OG "Black Toe"

As one of the first-ever Air Jordan 1 colourways, the “Black Toe” rendition will always be in-demand, with this low-top version of the legendary pair launching in 2023. Showcasing red and black accents upon a white base layer, the sneakers are crafted from premium leather across the uppers and are appointed with Nike’s signature Swoosh logo. Wings motifs reside at the heel counters, while that all-important Nike Air branding is located at the tongues. These are a serious pair for serious sneakerheads!

TS x AJ1 Low Black PhantomTravis Scott x Air Jordan 1 Low OG SP "Black Phantom"

Love him or hate him, there’s no denying that Travis Scott has made a huge impact on the world of sneakers. As part of his continued work with Nike and Jordan Brand, the Houston-based rapper dropped a blacked-out version of the Air Jordan 1 Low OG in 2022. Showcasing Scott’s signature reversed Swoosh logos, custom heel embroidery and contrasting white stitching, this pair is a fine example of the fact that sometimes less really is more. Plus, there’s a lot to be said when it comes to the versatility of an all-black pair.

AJ1 Low OG StarfishAir Jordan 1 Low OG "Starfish"

While this colourway might be officially titled “Starfish”, most sneaker fans will likely know this orange, white and black arrangement as “Shattered Backboard”. First seen on the AJ1 High back in 2015, the colourway has remained popular ever since and has returned in numerous different renditions over the years. It’s safe to say that the vibrant hues sit perfectly upon the Jordan 1 Low, with supple leather uppers helping to accentuate the already excellent appearance of this sneaker. Launched in 2021, we feel this pair is an underrated classic!

Dior x AJ1 LowDior x Air Jordan 1 Low OG

Sneaker collaborations have become somewhat of a normality in the industry, however even the most veteran footwear fans were shocked when Dior announced its partnership with Jordan Brand back in 2020. As part of the wider “Air Dior” collection, the two brands worked on the Air Jordan 1 Low OG, decking it out with ultra-premium leather and Dior’s iconic oblique pattern across the Swoosh logos. Completed with icy-blue outsoles and custom tongue branding, this pair easily makes our list and will remain a classic for years to come.

AJ1 Low Dark Powder BlueAir Jordan 1 Low OG "Dark Powder Blue"

The final addition to our lineup comes in the form of the Air Jordan 1 Low OG “Dark Powder Blue”, which bears a striking resemblance to the ever-popular “UNC” colourway. Paying homage to Michael Jordan’s years playing for the University of North Carolina, this colourway combines hits of light blue upon white and black base layers, for an OG colour blocking look. The arrangement looks better than ever on top of the AJ1 Low OG silhouette, making this release a solid addition to the rotation of any sneakerhead.
