After months of speculation following teaser images seen in January, an official announcement regarding the rumoured Jacquemus x Nike Air Max 1 capsule has finally been made. Simon Porte Jacquemus and his team over at Jacquemus have been frequent Nike collaborators since 2022, however this is without a doubt the duo’s biggest project yet. Offering up three different colourways of the 1987 classic sneaker (red, white and silver), the Parisian-based fashion house has added some subtle yet significant changes to the model. Showcasing a miniature jewelled Swoosh across the uppers, the kicks also come complete with a squared-off Air unit encased within the midsole, a feature which would usually showcase rounded edges.
The sneakers opt for an angular silhouette similar to the OG AM1, although several lines appear more aggressive and severe here. Hits of dual branding complete the look, making these a serious pair of sneakers that many footwear fans will be eagerly-anticipating. As it stands, there’s currently no release date set for this collaboration, although we can expect them to land later on this year.
