Those involved in the sneaker scene will already be aware that the industry is known to heavily focus on certain silhouettes each year, with trends coming and going at an ever-changing pace. While it may be difficult to understand for a beginner, many seasoned sneakerheads have learnt to predict exactly what styles will trend each year, as many of these styles will have also been popular in previous years. 2024 has been a great year for sneakers thus far, with plenty of rare collaborations and premium releases hitting the market. New Balance 2002R
First up on our list is none other than the mighty New Balance 2002R. Originally launched in 2010 as a workout sneaker, the silhouette was relaunched a decade later and marketed towards the lifestyle sector. Four years later, the kicks have grown in popularity hugely and are now a go-to choice for sneaker fans around the globe. We’ve seen recent collaborations with the likes of JJJJound and atmos, with hype behind the silhouette showing no signs of slowing down. If you’re looking for your first foray into the world of New Balance, this model is the perfect place to start!
Nike Air Max 95
The Nike Air Max 95 has long since been a sneaker that’s favoured by fashion fans and sneakerheads alike. First launched to the masses back in 1995, the running sneaker quickly transcended to the lifestyle market thanks to its great comfort and cutting-edge looks. Allegedly inspired by trail running sneakers, the kicks have launched in a plethora of great colourways across 2024, with plenty of high-profile figures opting to incorporate AM95s into their outfits.
adidas Campus 00s
While the blokecore aesthetic may have been what resurrected terrace style sneakers from the dead, there’s a new movement in town that has reinterpreted classic adidas styles once again. In fact, Y2K styling is back and better than ever, with the 3-Stripe label even introducing the Campus 00s, a pair that offers up a chunky and retro aesthetic that fashion fans have been lapping up. We’ve even seen a collaboration launch with Korn, one of Nu-Metal’s most iconic bands. Be sure to shop our full range of Campus sneakers here at Crepslocker!
Air Jordan 4
Still riding high after a few years at the top, Tinker Hatfield’s Air Jordan 4 shows absolutely no signs of slowing down anytime soon. Still the sneaker of choice for tastemakers around the globe, the high-top basketball silhouette has been treated to some great colourways in 2024. ASICS GEL-NYC
Japanese label ASICS has been a mainstay within the sneaker community for decades, however in recent years the label has struggled with mass market appeal. 2024 has finally put an end to this curse, with silhouettes such as the GEL-NYC already picking up huge amounts of traction. Boasting clean looks, incredible comfort and a durable design, the kicks have been used for limited-edition collaborations such as those with Hidden.NY this year, propelling the model to new heights. Keep your eyes peeled for big things to come!
adidas Samba
While the Samba may have been mainstream for a couple of years now, the classic 3-Stripe silhouette is still firmly rooted at the top in 2024, with plenty of new releases helping keep the hype behind the model. The latest Wales Bonner collaborative editions even feature a head-turning “football tongue”, a characteristic that has since popped up on a few other kicks, proving the influential value that the Samba holds. We’re expecting even more hyped Samba releases to round off 2024, so don’t go anywhere else anytime soon.
Nike Air Max Plus (TN)
Last but by no means least on our list, the humble Nike TN has been a mainstay in the sneaker rotation of many throughout 2024. Since 1998 the silhouette has remained relevant, with the kicks given a new lease of life every couple of years via Nike marketing pushes. This year we’ve seen an abundance of great colourways launch, proving once again that the Air Max Plus doesn’t need to rely on limited-edition collaborations to prove it’s worth.
