With Michael Jordan’s basketball career skyrocketing to levels never seen before, Nike and Jordan Brand knew they were onto something special with the Chicago Bulls star. 1986 saw the release of the Air Jordan 2, MJ’s second-ever signature sneaker. Designed by Peter Moore (the man behind the Nike Dunk and the Air Jordan 1s), the Air Jordan 2 showcased a more streamlined design language, with the kicks taking on a bulkier appearance and lacking Nike Swoosh logos, a move towards Jordan Brand becoming its own entity. Launched in both high and low-top options, the model proved popular with basketball fans around the globe and remains a solid option today.
We’ve seen plenty of great colourways over the years, and in recent times we’ve even seen collaborative options from the likes of Off-White and A Ma Maniére.
